HISTORIC DOWNTOWN BOZEMAN AT A GLANCE
The Conservation Overlay was adopted in 1991 to preserve the historic integrity and architectural design of Bozeman’s historic neighborhoods. The purpose of the Overlay is to prioritize the maintenance and restoration of structures and to preserve each districts’ unique feel. The Conservation District contains more than 3,000 properties. Most exterior alterations to any structure in this zone must be approved. There are ten historic districts within the Conservation District, each with it’s own distinct qualities and feel.
